It’s been a very busy year in the camp ‘Created By Connie’. Beginning with the exciting Henna Wings on the Moors photo shoot, followed by the wonderful pregnancy photo shoot and THEN the very stunning (and cold!) River Wharf photo shoot – this year has also seen the first Beginner’s Henna Workshop, the formation of the Home of Henna CIC (the formal home of the #MonthlyMehndiMeet), a brilliant festival season which included Skipton Market, Shipley Street Arts Festival and the 10th Bingley Music Live alongside The Henna Goddess, the epic first HennaCon instructor experience in California (which also featured in the local press), working with the first Women of the World Festival in Bradford and many beautiful brides and hennas in-between! ***PHEW***
And as the year comes to a close, we will be celebrating the 2nd anniversary of our beloved #MonthlyMehndiMeet with an exciting candle painting event at Kala Sangam (you can take your candle home as a souvenir)! It will also mark a small shift in operations as the time has now come for Rozeena to take the management reins to guide the #MMM to the next level in forming a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help build a better henna community within Bradford, UK and beyond. Whilst I will remain a constant presence at each meet, and a strong supporting role in its continued upward journey, I am super excited to see it develop without my strong arm grip on proceedings. I have seen for myself that within the group there are already so many, many inspired ideas yet to come and it’s just incredibly exciting. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for all the updates!
Meanwhile, I have been on the proverbial cliff edge fending off the dreaded artist burn-out for some time and subsequently, will be taking advantage of the festive season to enforce a Social Media Blackout until the new year. This involves dialling back interaction on all social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp to allow myself adequate time and space to recharge. I then plan to return in 2017, replenished, reignited, rejuvenated and reinvigorated with [several] new announcements to get the year started!
Please note that all existing appointments and commitments will remain unchanged despite my social media absence. I will remain contactable via email and phone.
So for now, please allow me to take this early opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas in my [online] absence. May you have the fortune of enjoying some quality time with loved ones, sharing festivities and messages with those near and far – and I wish you all the abundance of love, happiness and good health into the new year. I look forwards to seeing you all again on the other side!
With my best wishes,
Connie x
